I oroginally got this book at my local library and enjopyed it so much wanted it in my personal library. It's the first time I have been willing and able to learn about Persia and all the accoutremats that surround it. Mr. Majid writes in a whimsical informative style with his personal perception of the countries in the book. It was very informative and worthy of being in my library. I can also use it as a referene book regarding these countries.

About the Author

Dr Peter Claus is a Senior Research Fellow in History at Pembroke College, Oxford. He has researched and written about social networks, social investigation and cultural forms in the City of London and the wider metropolis in the modern period. His particular commitmenttowidening participation and teaching strategies that use the archive as a way of enthusing students from non-traditional backgrounds has led to a more recent interest in the historical role of education and training in the development of public policy.

Dr John Marriott is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of East London, where he remains involved in the work of the Raphael Samuel History Centre. His research interests are in the nexus between London and empire in the modern era on which he has written widely. Most recently, his Beyond the Tower: a History of East London, published by Yale University Press, appeared in 2011. Last year he emigrated to Yorkshire where he is struggling to restore an early Georgian townhouse.

Bought this for every bride I know

I'm at that age where everyone I know is getting married, and I have bought this for every bride I know as an engagement present. They've all loved it and been so excited to use it to help them plan!! I hope someone buys it for me when I get engaged, but if no one steps up I will definitely order it myself! It's design is clean and easy to follow and it's smaller than your average book, making it easily portable to appointments and to take to work and work on during your lunch break! Highly recommended.

Love this book!

I bought an entire library of wedding planning books during our 18 month engagement. This is one of 2 books that I was actually still referring to the week of our wedding. I loved the lists - and I used this book to keep me on track. I wrote lots of little notes of my own in the book as we were making decisions along the way. The book has kind of become a wedding planning keepsake, and I buy it for friends who are newly engaged as a gift.

This may seem unnecessary if you have the planner

This may seem unnecessary if you have the planner, but I've found it to be a very handy companion to the planner. It is much more portable and contains some information that I didn't see in the planner. It's also a bit more streamlined, so it's nice to have when you meet with service providers. I highly recommend this book in addition to the planner or even as a stand alone planning guide.

About the Author

Mike Cronin has worked for Boston College since 2005, and he is the Academic Director of BC in Ireland. Professor Cronin is one of the world's leading scholars on the history of sport and the context within which sport functions in the twenty-first century. Prior to working for Boston College, Professor Cronin spent eight years working with the world governing body of soccer, FIFA, in delivering their International Masters course. He has also worked closely with a number of sports organizations. He has written extensively on various aspects of sport history, and has been the recipient of both the UK's Lord Abedare prize and the US NASSH prize for sports history book of the year. He appears regularly on television and radio in Ireland and across the world, discussing sport and its relevance to society.
