Drawing Fashion

I ordered this item because the title said "Fashion Design Drawing Course". Since I am teaching a course of fashion design I thought may be this is the book I should use to teach the class. When I reviewed the book I found out that it was not a course at all. There are pictures of dresses and some elementary sketches, but not a book you will use to teach a class. The fancy title makes you think of a step-by-step book on how to draw fashion,which is just a bunch of pictures put together. If you really want to learn the process of fashion do not buy this book, instead get right book "Fashion Sketchbook" by Bina Abling.

Philosophical Look at Nolan

I am a fan of Nolan's work and style, so this was a great read. McGowan critically analyzes his films both individually and as subtexts to his overall filmmaking career so far. He frequently brings in philosophical ethics, especially Freud and Hegel, which can at times become challenging but is mostly well explained and understandable to those not versed in ethics. Overall, I really enjoyed this work and cannot wait to watch a Nolan film with friends and start explaining how the act of creating a fiction is really the pure representation of reaching truth. And stuff. The only downside is it stops at Inception!

Very Enticing :)

Until reading this book I had no idea how spies in the real world actually operated. He gives an extreme amount of detail on how spies conduct their operations and go about their day to day. The difference between the fiction and the real life is, real spies puts fiction to shame. I particularly enjoyed the sections on cyber attacks and hacking. This is by by far the most up to date work on the subject available anywhere outside the intelligence community. For businesses and individuals this is a critical read. Enjoy ;)

The subject matter of this book is pertinent, important and exciting, the book is not. The author seems to be familiar with the subject matter and has obviously done his research. His writing style is easily read but circuitous and redundant. Redundant. (An aside - the lack of table of contents is annoying).

Not a review of tactics, more of scenarios

I'll start by saying I'm probably not the target market for this book.

I quickly skimmed this book for research at my job to see if there would be an overview of big corporate espionage cases. None were found. This book occupies a weird niche between novel and reality: the scenarios here could be real but aren't. The biggest lesson I took from this book is that there are lots of ways to get or 'extract' information from people.

People looking for modern examples and data should look elsewhere.

About the Author
Rebecca is an English illustrator living in Australia. She grew up in a creative, if slightly eccentric, family. Her days were spent roaming the English countryside collecting wild flowers and leaves, chasing butterflies and birds, and drawing tiny pictures of everything she could. After graduating from art school in Winchester, she moved to London where she worked as a textile designer. She worked there for a few years, until her restlessness had her flying off to Australia in search of adventure. Now she has replaced the countryside with concrete, and lives slap-bang in the middle of a big city. But she is to be found most days in her studio, drinking endless cups of tea, staring out of the window at a bunch of imaginary critters, and trying to draw them.

The book is really nice. I didn't like having to wait so long ...

I am really enjoying coloring. I wish the front of the envelope wasn't quite so busy. If I mail these cards the addresses will have to be crammed into the space provided which is not very big and the return address will have to be put on the back unless you cover some of the coloring. The book is really nice. I didn't like having to wait so long to get it - but it's certainly worth it.

I love to color and there is an abundance of Christmas critters and candy canes to work on. I have anxiety real bad, I think a lot of us do, and I come to this off & on for the same page I'm working on and get it done to go to the next one. Very relaxing & since I'm a real home body makes me feel very festive without going to all the 'buy me, buy me' stores!
